Full disclosure: the business is still not profitable. We're in "growth mode" & the founders want to acquire subscription customers at break-even. Aggressive scaling like this comes at a price.

The follow lie is a classic tale of enshittification thatâs occurred on nearly every social media platform. Itâs pretty simple:
You join a social media platform and find some people who interest you. You tap follow (or âAdd friendâ, âLike pageâ, âSubscribeâ), because you want to see their content. For a while, everything works just fine. You see your best friendâs wedding photos, your favourite bloggerâs posts.
Soon though, the follow lie kicks in. Something happens.
