Snowflake announced Artic, their open 17b model. The LLM perfomance chart is replete with new offerings in just a few weeks. Overall knowledge performance is asymptoting as expected. It’s hard to discern the most recent dots.

Just half (47%) of our sample of editors, CEOs, and digital executives say they are confident about the prospects for journalism in the year ahead, with around one-tenth (12%) expressing low confidence. With the right instructions, your SEO writing can go beyond basic words on a page to pique curiosity, provoke thought, and form a deep bond with your reader.

It only takes one-time of getting auto-renewed and stuck in a contract you don’t want to learn your lesson.
My policy is to push to remove auto-renewal clauses every time. If the vendor refuses, then I will send a cancellation notice immediately after signing the contract.
When the vendor has you as churning because you sent them your cancellation notice they 1) engage a lot earlier before renewal and 2) tend to be more flexible on price at renewal.
So not only do you eliminate the risk of getting auto-renewed, but you also save money!!
